The basic working principle of a single effect fiber separator
The working principle of the single effect fiber separator is based on the combination of centrifugal sedimentation and disintegration. The core process can be summarized as follows: the pulp enters the high-speed rotating rotor area inside the separator from the feed inlet along a tangential direction at a certain concentration. Under the combined action of the rotor’s intense agitation and the centrifugal force field, the fibers in the pulp are fully disintegrated and remain suspended, while impurities with a specific gravity much greater than that of the fibers (such as metals, sand, etc.) are thrown against the inner wall of the equipment under strong centrifugal force and settle along the wall to the heavy impurity discharge outlet at the bottom, where they are periodically removed.
Meanwhile, the purified pulp flows out from the clean pulp outlet through the holes in the sieve plate (sieve drum) surrounding the rotor under the specific pressure gradient inside the equipment. Light impurities (such as plastic fragments) and some coarse fibers that fail to pass through the sieve plate are pushed by the rotor blades to the slag discharge port at the end of the equipment. This process effectively separates the fibers from both light and heavy impurities.
