In the fiber separation and screening process of the pulp and paper industry, the drum screen is a widely used screening device primarily employed for preliminary screening and purification of pulp. It operates by continuously filtering the defiberized pulp through a uniformly rotating cylindrical drum.

The main structure consists of a slightly inclined cylindrical screening drum, with sieve plates of specific aperture sizes distributed across the drum wall. During operation, pulp is fed into the drum through the inlet. As the screening drum rotates slowly, clean pulp is discharged through the sieve holes under the action of gravity and centrifugal force, while larger impurities such as fiber bundles and plastic fragments are retained inside the drum. These impurities gradually move toward the lower end with the rotation and are eventually discharged through the slag outlet. This equipment features a simple structure, stable operation, high processing capacity, and easy maintenance. It effectively improves pulp purity and provides qualified raw material for subsequent paper making processes.
