The core working principle of a conical refiner is based on a pair of grinding discs with specific tooth patterns (one fixed and one rotating) applying comprehensive mechanical action to pulp fibers. The pulp is fed into the narrow gap between two conical grinding discs under a certain pressure. With the high-speed rotation of the rotor, fibers undergo morphological changes under complex effects such as shear, friction, compression, and impact on the grinding disc teeth. By precisely controlling the pulp concentration, throughput, disc clearance, and power load, precise control of pulp strength and effectiveness can be achieved.
